Eisaku stopped thru Battalion last week to check out the new stuff and snap a few pix. We had no idea how much his look would bring to the shots… needless to say we were blown away. Besides being a fellow photographer he’s got skills in front of the lens as well. This is just a taste of the ‘Eisaku Tokuyama for Battalion Armour’ photo story shot by Tishaun Dawson (me). The full story will be online soon.
This guys work made me pause and think. The faces of these people…

Phil Borges photographs indigenous people around the world. His work preserves some of the culture that is dying daily. Travel with him thru the words and photos on his site. Powerful stuff… feel it?
You phil it.

The series of images over at Mycelium are pretty amazing once you realize that the designs are made up of lines that are actually sentences in small type. I can’t imagine how tedious this type of design must be. Words escape me… but surely not him.

The stockroom is filling up and the preparations are feverish as we near the launch of the Battalion Armour shop. We’ve got a bunch of secrets up our sleeves that we look forward to revealing to you over this next year. New stuff also comes off the press seemingly every week. Hopefully you’ll be able to find something that calls your name. We’ll be listening…
We’ve been on a high all week because we got a chance to spend some time with legendary DJ and member of A Tribe Called Quest, Ali Shaheed Muhammad when he stopped thru LA to rock the ROXY. After an ill set filled with classics and some elevated new music I got a chance to give him one of the limited edition Battalion FYTE shirts. I’m honored. We look forward to his return to the west!
Check out the Frank Morrison site when you get a sec. His graphic style reminds me of good times. You can order prints or originals right off the site as well.

We loved the name, altho originally intended for a different design, so we applied it to this look headed for the press this week… SARG.
We created the owl for a friend who loves owls and decided to share her with you in hopes you would feel the same. The owl sports 3 stripes which means she’s a Sargent… hence the name.

SARG in charge of my days and my nights. SARG in charge of my wrongs and my rights.
I want SARG in charge of me.
